FantasySupernatural

Lucy is an Archivist of Heaven. For over a millennium, she has cataloged mortal lives with clinical precision. But when she discovers a clerical error—a man marked deceased by an Archangel’s hand who is still very much alive—the perfection of the Archives shatters. Driven by a curiosity that Heaven forbids, Lucy breaks the ultimate rule and falls to Earth to find him.

Noah Fisher is a biological impossibility. A twenty-four-year-old nursing student and a vampire who walks freely beneath the sun, Noah is a glitch in the supernatural design. More than that, he’s marked as deceased in Heaven’s Archives, hunted by demonic forces, and entirely unaware of the cosmic machinery closing in around him.

When the angel and the outlier collide, they trigger a tether that cannot be broken. As a charcoal-shadowed Dreamwalker begins invading their minds and a demon professor starts pulling their strings, the mystery of Noah’s existence reveals a terrifying truth: Heaven is lying.

In the rain-slicked streets of Calloway, Oregon, where the line between celestial and demonic grows dangerously thin, Lucy and Noah must navigate two sides of a world entirely unfamiliar to them. Surrounded by Fae playing at mortality and demons watching from the shadows, Lucy is starting to realize she didn’t just fall to save Noah. She might have walked right into a trap a thousand years in the making.

A First Glimpse

Read the opening

There was no feeling worse than falling. At least, not to Lucy. In the Golden City, weight had always been a suggestion—nothing but an afterthought. Movement was an act of will, a glide offering no resistance.

But here, in the shadow of the firmament, weight became a crushing authority. It didn’t just pull her; it claimed her. Gravity dragged at her bones, an overwhelming heaviness engulfing her as her skin ignited with the friction of a world that did not want her.

What had she done?

The question flickered in her mind like a candle at the end of its wick, a sudden and unexpected surge of fear flooding her body.

She reached inward, searching for the familiar hum of her power. Relief, intense and immediate, washed over her as she realized it was still there, pulsing beneath her ribs like a trapped star. It was frantic, hot, and agonizingly confined. It hadn’t been stripped from her; even the Heavens couldn’t take what was woven into her very essence. But it had been compressed. The vast, oceanic reach of her grace was now a pressurized liquid, thrumming against her bones with a frequency that made her teeth ache.

She was a burning star forced into the fragile, terrifying shape of a girl.
